Dear Friends in Christ:
Warm Christian greetings to all those who are supportive of the Covenant Brethren Church (CBC). May the glad tidings and peace of Jesus be your continual blessing.
The Stewardship Committee and Executive Board of the CBC are announcing some suggested guidelines for supporting individuals to become actively involved in helping this new venture become an organization that is known for financial integrity and transparency. To this end, we are committed to keeping folks informed of our monetary needs so that we can meet our obligations promptly.
We are not yet at the point of coming up with a solid budget process. But our financial needs are growing. We have pretty well equipped our Fairmont, WV office with the necessary furniture and technology. It is being staffed with part-time help. We have monthly rental costs. We have begun to reimburse Executive Board members for travel expenses as they meet with churches and individuals who are joining CBC. All of this and more are adding up.
We are encouraging individuals interested in supporting the CBC to send in a donation as led by the Spirit. We firmly believe, when the Lord wants something to happen, He will pay for it. Thank you in advance for your prayers and your financial support. We believe that a good response to this arrangement will give us sufficient resources for now.
Also, we are committing ourselves to setting aside a tenth (a tithe of approximately ten percent) of the monies that come in to support outreach ministries that will include the mercy (Matthew 25) and evangelistic (Matthew 28) missions of the church.
These monies can be sent directly to our treasurer, Fred Shank at 4955 Thomas Spring Road, Bridgewater, VA 22812.
In advance, we thank you as you respond to this appeal. We trust you will see this arrangement as a blessing and opportunity and not as a burden. May our utmost desire be to only do what is best to help fulfill God’s kingdom on earth as it is done in heaven.
In service of the King,
Covenant Brethren Church Stewards Team
