Weekly Prayer Points

“Then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.” Philippians 2:2 (NIV). Align our desires with Yours, unite us in pursuing Your will, and let the Holy Spirit clearly reveal what You desire to do and how You desire to accomplish it through us. Give us one heart and one mind, centered on Christ, so that our shared work brings glory to You and draws others to know You. Teach us to serve together with humility, patience, and grace, building one another up in love. Provide wisdom, strength, gifts, and resources we need to carry out Your will faithfully. Lord, thank You for revealing what is good and for graciously making Your will known through Your Word and the work of the Holy Spirit. We praise You, Almighty God, for doing the heavy lifting and providing everything needed to accomplish Your purposes. We thank You for being our Shield and Defender. Help us stand firm in our faith and not be moved by discouragement, fear, weariness, or doubt. Give us strength and courage to give ourselves fully to the work You have called us to do, serving with joy, faithfulness, and perseverance. Begun in 1780 in England and sometimes dismissed, this vital program arm of the Church continues to touch and change lives with the Gospel of Christ. The majority of Sunday School teachers are volunteers who dedicate hours each week to studying God’s Word and preparing to teach children, youth, and adults the great truths of the Bible. For some children, this Sunday School hour is the only Bible instruction they receive. Pray for our dedicated core of Sunday School teachers and all their students, young and old. Open hearts, open minds, changed lives! It’s time for sports practices, band practices, and back to the classroom for a new school year. Pray for those teachers & students who participate in “See You At The Pole” (September 23 this year). For many, this is the first time living away from family. There is often a big adjustment needed for the student to be self-disciplined without Mom & Dad supervising their schedule. For Christian students on secular campuses, the influence of non-Christian values and ideas can be overwhelming! Pray for students and families in this time of transition. Pray for the seeds of faith planted in young Christian youth to find deep roots and bear good fruit. Pray for Christian men & women who teach at the college level in both secular and Christian colleges. Lord, guard the hearts of our college students! “Study to show thyself approved unto God…” (2 Timothy 2:15 KJ21). The CBC Ministerial Training Program aims to provide high-quality, Biblically sound, and accessible training for CBC ministers. Many of our ministers are bi-vocational with a full-time job and a family, while also providing pastoral ministry to a congregation. Pray for our students, those preparing and presenting the video training, and those who facilitate groups of students watching the video training. May the Holy Spirit truly work through this much-needed training program.
