“Study to show yourself approved unto God…” 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV21). It’s back-to-school season! Summer vacations draw to a conclusion. It’s time for sports practices, band practices, and back to the classroom for a new school year. Pray for those teachers & students who participate in “See You At The Pole” (September 23 this year). Pray for Christian teachers & students & staff in public schools. Pray for all in Christian schools. Pray for families & students who Homeschool. Pray for the safety of all our students & staff. Pray for those involved in Release Time programs. For many, this is the first time living away from family. There is often a big adjustment needed for the student to be self-disciplined without Mom & Dad supervising their schedule. For Christian students on secular campuses, the influence of non-Christian values and ideas can be overwhelming! Pray for students and families in this time of transition. Pray for the seeds of faith planted in young Christian youth to find deep roots and bear good fruit. Pray for Christian men & women who teach at the college level in both secular and Christian colleges. Lord, guard the hearts of our college students! “Study to show thyself approved unto God…” (2 Timothy 2:15 KJ21). The CBC Ministerial Training Program aims to provide high-quality, Biblically sound, and accessible training for CBC ministers. Many of our ministers are bi-vocational with a full-time job and a family, while also providing pastoral ministry to a congregation. Pray for our students, those preparing and presenting the video training, and those who facilitate groups of students watching the video training. May the Holy Spirit truly work through this much-needed training program. A few years ago, while traveling to the Middle East, we had a layover in Istanbul. As our plane descended into the city, I was struck by the miles of high-rise buildings and reminded of the world’s more than eight billion lives and souls—each one known by God and called by name. In that moment, I reflected on the awe-inspiring truth that Christ died for everyone, offering forgiveness and the promise of eternal life. Heavenly Father, we praise You for Your great love for humanity and for providing the one and only Savior, Jesus Christ— “the Way and the Truth and the Life” John 14:6 (NIV). Through Him alone, our sins are forgiven, and we are reconciled to You. Soften hearts to receive the gospel and help us to “always be prepared to give an answer… for the hope that we have” 1 Peter 3:15 (NIV).
