Weekly Prayer Point – 09/08/2025

September 8th, 2025|Weekly Prayer Point|

What a glorious time we had together at the worship conference in Greensboro, North Carolina. How pleasant and sweet it was to dwell together in unity for those three days. I am grateful for all who worked diligently to make this event happen. It truly was a taste of the divine! Permit me to use this format to encourage you to pray for your sister church, and if you have not yet claimed your 'prayer partner', I would like to encourage you to do so. What a privilege it is to pray for one another. I can think of no better way to see God work His Unity than through this chosen method. I promise you will be blessed! My prayers this month will be those prayed by Paul for the Body of Christ that he dearly loved. I pray these prayers will give us insight to pray for one another and that our prayers would be pleasing to our Father! Please email me to receive the information needed to begin praying for a 'Sister to Sister' church and developing a relationship with a church body you may never see here on this earth, but will enjoy for eternity. Weekly Prayer Point – 08/25/2025

August 25th, 2025|Weekly Prayer Point|

In every church family and every family, our prayer lists are long with those who are suffering with physical and or emotional problems.  In a fallen world, we deal with illness and injury.  As Christians, we are not immune.  Pray for persons and families you know who are walking this journey.  Pray for those sick and hospitalized.  Pray for doctors and medical staff.  Give thanks for the biblical ordinance of Anointing as outlined in James 5:13-16 (NKJV) and pray for our ministers and deacons as they share this special gift with the hurting.  The Lord is present.  The Lord still heals.  “I am the Lord who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26 NIV) Your prayers for the sick make a difference!  When a believing person prays, great things happen. Please pray for the following congregations and pastors: Caimito Congregation in San Juan, Puerto Rico and pastor Evelyn Tanco Rosario Calvary Congregation in Winchester, VA and pastor Jonathan Martino CBC Prayer Committee

As we enter back-to-school season, let us remember our children, youth, and college students. Sports and band practices are starting, college students are moving to campus, and classrooms are being prepared. Release Time and after-school programs are being planned. Pray for all young people that their learning aligns with the truth of God’s Word. Also, pray for teachers, homeschool parents, school staff, bus drivers, and coaches. Also, don’t forget the lunch lady! In a world where violence often affects our schools and campuses, pray for peace and safety. After the Lord God gave the Israelites the Ten Commandments, they were instructed to “Impress them on your children” (Deuteronomy 6:7 NIV). The Hebrew word used here implies sewing. In Brethren speak, we might say, “Quilt this truth into the very fabric of young lives.” We would no longer be enslaved to sin. Please pray for the following congregations and pastors: Brandts Church Congregation in St. Thomas, PA and pastor Roger Myers Brick congregation in Maysville, WV and pastor Randy Cosner CBC Prayer Committee

August 4th, 2025|Weekly Prayer Point|

Our highest calling is to bring others to Christ.  It is the primary mission of our congregations!  It is the primary work of the Covenant Brethren Church as a young denomination.   In service and compassion work, we seek to point to Jesus.  In fellowship, teaching, and preaching, we lift up Jesus.  In a lost world, so many need to hear and to know Him.  Pray for yourself for the courage and opportunities to share the Gospel.  Pray for the faithfulness of our church to win the lost.  Pray for open minds and hearts.  King Solomon wrote, “…he who wins souls is wise.”  (Proverbs 11:30 NIV) Please pray for the following congregations and pastors: Bowden Family Worship Center Congregation in Bowden, WV and pastor Lynn Ryder Brake congregation in Petersburg, WV and pastor Craig Howard CBC Prayer Committee
