This morning (June 21) we were alerted that Samaritan’s Purse is looking for volunteers to assist after a severe storm swept through Tulsa, OK on June 17th, producing powerful straight-line winds in excess of 90mph causing massive tree and debris damage. Nearly 200,000 people lost power and more than 125,000 are still without power. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid to high 90’s throughout the foreseeable future. Volunteers will be assisting homeowners with tarping roofs, chainsaw work, and moving debris.

This is a reminder that disasters are never convenient, and there are families in desperate need of assistance. When they woke up this morning many families were dealing with having lost everything they have worked so hard for all of their lives. If you are interested in volunteering for this project please contact Brenda Harvey at brendalharvey1@gmail.com or 301-616-1367 or Mark Teets at mteets@snowycreekdorset.com or 304-698-7197. We will then begin the registration process. If you cannot assist in this way, would you please spend some time in prayer for the families affected by this storm, the volunteers and for the Samaritan’s Purse organization.
