These past several weeks and the two that remain – many will be going to vote for candidates seeking office to serve in various national, state, and local governments. If you have yet to vote --- go. Pray that Heaven helps us to be a nation that serves the Lord. Heavenly Father, we praise You because You are our Stronghold, Rock of Refuge, Protector and Defender. Thank You for giving us Your Word that is “alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12). Help us to “watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in (our) way that are contrary to the teaching (we) have learned.” (Romans 16:17) We ask for protection from the evil one and wisdom and discernment to recognize the deception of false teaching. Sanctify us by the truth that comes from Your Word. You are the Author of Unity; but I am utterly persuaded that we can wait on you! In the upper room as they were waiting for the promise, they were waiting with a full expectancy that you would do what You said you would do! They obeyed your words to go to Jerusalem and wait for the Gift! Every time we want to divide ourselves; every time we want to be right in our own eyes, help us, Oh Lord to stop and change our minds and agree with your Word. It is worship, bowing to your word and presenting our bodies as living sacrifices that brings what you desire in our lives and the life of the church. In the precious Name, Jesus, Who has called us to be One! Heavenly Father, In Ephesians 4:1-6, Paul is urging us to live a life worthy of the calling we have received. You saved us by your Grace and now, oh God, we desire with our whole hearts to walk in a way that brings you Joy! Help us to be completely humble and gentle; to be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make it our resolve to keep the unity of the Sprit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit. Just as we were called to one hope when we were called; One God, one faith, one baptism; One God and Father of all, who is over all, through all and in all! You, oh God are the One the I Am of all that we believe! Give us wisdom, that you give liberally, to understand the Beauty and Power of this Word for our Body!
