My office manager had been running ads looking for a couple of people to work in one of our departments. After reviewing approximately 180 applications and narrowing them down to less than fifteen, she started setting up interviews. As we interviewed the fifteen, only four said they could pass a drug test. So, of these four individuals, I got to make the final decision for the two to be hired.

One individual stood out, and as I watched on our lobby camera I could see he was anxious. He clasped his hands and then buried his face in them. It was time to call him back for his interview. He had an excellent work history, had not moved from job to job, and stayed on average five to six years in every place he worked. So why is he looking to change jobs? I asked him this question.

He told me he was a very hard worker and stayed at the various jobs because he had hoped to make more money to support his family but was held back or never made the money his co-workers were being paid. He showed me his pay stubs from other places he had worked, and I WAS SHOCKED to see how little he was being paid. I would have expected him to make much more after four years of full-time employment.

I offered him the position, and he raised his finger and pointed up, saying, “Thank You, Jesus.” He then asked if he would be making the advertised amount. I told him no… he would be making more.

I told him God does not discriminate and neither do I.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is [a]neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Gal. 3:28 (NASV).

Gracias Francisco, I’m looking forward to seeing you on the 24th.
