“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” –  1 Timothy 4:12 (NIV)

As we get ready for the upcoming youth conference, it’s a great time to think about what God might be calling us to do. God has a plan for each one of us, and He often uses events like this to help us understand His plans better. This conference is a chance to grow closer to God, meet new friends, and learn more about living a life that honors Him.

God’s call can come in many forms. It might be a feeling you get during a worship song, a message that stands out to you during a talk, or even something a friend says that touches your heart. The important thing is to be open and ready to listen. Sometimes, God’s call is about big things, like choosing a career or deciding how to serve in your church. Other times, it’s about small things, like being kind to someone who needs a friend or praying for someone who is hurting.

One of the best ways to prepare for God’s call is to spend time in prayer and read the Bible. When we pray, we open our hearts to hear God’s voice. Reading the Bible helps us understand God’s character and His plans for us. During the conference, there will be plenty of opportunities for both. Take these times seriously and really focus on what God might be saying to you.

Another important part of preparing for God’s call is being ready to act. It’s one thing to hear what God wants us to do, but it’s another thing to actually do it. Sometimes, following God’s call can be scary or hard, but God promises to be with us every step of the way. Remember the verse from 1 Timothy 4:12. Even though you are young, you can be an example to others. Your actions can show God’s love and make a big difference in the world.

As you get ready for the conference, pray that God will open your heart and mind to hear His call. Ask Him to give you the courage to follow where He leads. And trust that He will use you in amazing ways to bless others and bring glory to His name.

Prayer: Dear God, thank you for the opportunity to attend this youth conference. Help us to open our hearts and minds to hear your call. Give us the courage to follow where you lead and to be examples of your love and grace to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
