“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.” – Matthew 28:6 (NIV)

Sometimes life feels like standing in the middle of a storm. Winds push against you from every direction. You try to stay steady, but it’s hard not to feel like you’re about to fall over. Fear creeps in, and doubts swirl around like leaves in the wind. It can feel like everything is spinning out of control.

The resurrection of Jesus was the calm after the storm for His followers. Before that moment, everything seemed lost. Jesus had been crucified, and hope seemed buried with Him. But then the stone was rolled away. Jesus was alive, just like He said He would be. The wind didn’t stop blowing in the world, but now there was a reason to stand strong in it.

Strong winds come into everyone’s life. They show up as challenges, disappointments, and even heartbreak. But the story of the empty tomb reminds us that even when everything looks broken, God is still working. Jesus rising from the grave shows that no storm has the final say—He does. And His power is greater than anything we’ll face.

Think of a kite. It needs the wind to fly. Without resistance, it wouldn’t soar. In the same way, the strong winds in our lives can lift us higher if we hold on to what’s true. Jesus didn’t stay in the grave. He rose, and because He did, we can rise too. Not by our own strength, but by trusting Him.

So when the winds blow, remember the empty tomb. Remember that Jesus is alive and walking with you through every gust and every struggle. Let that truth lift you when it feels like you’re being knocked down.

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for rising from the grave and showing us that nothing is too powerful for You. When life feels like a strong wind trying to knock me over, help me remember that You are with me. Give me strength to stand and faith to rise. Help me trust You, even when I can’t see the end of the storm. In Your name I pray, amen.
