“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” — Hebrews 13:16 (NIV)

Jesus showed love through action. He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and welcomed those others ignored. His life was a perfect example of kindness and compassion. As His followers, we are called to do the same. Helping others in Jesus’ name isn’t just about big gestures—it’s about living with a heart ready to serve, no matter how small the act may seem.

Sometimes, the world teaches that success is about getting more for yourself. But Jesus taught something different. He said the greatest among us is the one who serves. When we look around, there are always people who need encouragement, kindness, or practical help. It might be a classmate who feels alone, a neighbor struggling to carry groceries, or a friend who needs someone to listen. Every act of kindness done in Jesus’ name shines His love into the world.

Serving isn’t about getting praise or feeling important. It’s about reflecting Jesus. When we help others, we point them to Him. Our words and actions can remind people that God cares for them. Sometimes, we may feel like we don’t have much to offer, but even a small act of kindness can make a big difference. Jesus once used a boy’s small lunch to feed thousands. What we have may seem small, but in God’s hands, it can bless many.

Helping others isn’t just something we do occasionally—it’s a way of life. It starts with a heart open to God, willing to see the needs around us. When we pray and ask God to use us, He will open doors to serve in ways we never expected. The more we practice kindness and generosity, the more natural it becomes. And as we do, we grow closer to Jesus, because we are living as He did.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Jesus, who showed us how to love and serve others. Open my eyes to the needs around me and give me a heart that is ready to help. Let my actions reflect Your kindness so that others may see You through me. Help me to serve with joy and humility, always remembering that even small acts can make a difference. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
