“So we have the prophetic word made more sure …,” 2 Peter 1:19a (NASB 95).
We live in a culture where many people do not know God’s word. This is a primary issue in our world today. God provides us with guidance, but we often choose to disobey. As a result, sin enters our lives.
God’s word is the answer to all of life’s difficulties. It is given to us for our well-being in all we do. It helps us live our lives in a more effective and purposeful way. It is our instruction given to us by God, our Creator. It shows us the way to salvation through His son Jesus.
God’s Word, the Bible, is reliable. It helps us to become better fathers, mothers, workers, students, … God’s Word is good for us and how we live. It reveals the character of God and shows us the great love of God. It points us to our savior, Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament, Psalm 119, the word of God is so important that it is written in the form of an acrostic. So that even children who are learning the alphabet will know that God’s law is needed.
We see a lack of Biblical preaching and teaching in our society. We learn of Pastors who are afraid to preach the word because they fear it may offend someone, and their attendance may drop. We see pastors who doubt the word and would believe the lies of Satan instead. We see pastors who have been taught false teachings and continue to spread poison to their congregations. May it never be with our Covenant Brethren Pastors. May God make us bold to proclaim the life-giving good news! The Gospel.
Let each of us spend time each day in God’s word, the Bible.
God Bless You!
