Samaritan’s Purse and Covenant Brethren Church is there with prayers and much needed financial support. As soon as the plane took off loaded with supplies for Israel we received word from our partner, Samaritan’s Purse, that a D.A.R.T. team was on its way to begin assessing the situation offering assistance where possible. D.A.R.T. stands for Disaster Assistance Response Team and is made up of trained and qualified specialists who are doing the job there as we offer support from here.
Franklin Graham sent this message; “Samaritan’s Purse has teams on the ground now in Israel. We are working with dozens of churches to equip and support them in ministering to people in their communities who have been affected by these deadly terrorist attacks. The situation is changing hourly. We stand ready to deploy field hospitals, medical equipment, and teams of doctors and nurses if the government of Israel needs this help.”
As partners with Samaritan’s Purse in the midst of this evil that has fallen upon Israel, Covenant Brethren Church is pledging funds to help meet this need. Already the national executive Committee has pledged $2,000 out of our missions’ funds. The Central Allegheny region has pledged $1,000 and there are other churches that are pledging between $1,000 and $5,000 to address this crisis.
The National Executive Committee has decided to put a call out to the churches of the CBC to take a special offering or make a pledge to help Israel in this time of need. As Christians we are God’s people of the new covenant. We are forever linked to God’s people of the old covenant and the scripture makes it clear that God is not done with them yet. We can’t abandon them.
If you or your church want to help you can send your donation, marked for Israel, to:

We have a unique opportunity through our Samaritan’s Purse Partnership to make a global difference. Let’s rise to the challenge and Glorify God as we work together to see Israel rise above this evil act of aggression and show them that the Body of Christ is sharing Christ’s love with them. That is the kind of thing that the Good Samaritan would do and is the kind of thing CBC wants to be known for.
