Have mercy upon us, Oh God, according to Thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of your tender mercies, blot out our transgressions. Wash us thoroughly from our iniquities and cleanse us from our sin. For we acknowledge our transgressions and our sin is ever before us. Against You and You only have we sinned. We were born in sin and are not able to save ourselves. You desire that we see the truth, and that truth would be a part of even our DNA. Wash us with Thy blood that we may be made whiter than snow. Create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us. After You have dealt with us, let us hear joy and gladness and enjoy Your presence every day of our lives. Amen! Please pray for the following congregations and pastors: Barren Ridge Congregation in Staunton, VA and Pastors Henry and Janet Elsea Bashan Congregation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa and Pastor Buturi Majeru Alphonse CBC Prayer Committee

Father, our prayer is to dwell in your house forever and enjoy your benefits. In this world of sin, soften our hearts to acknowledge our sin. Our sin may not seem as serious as those transgressions of David but open our eyes to see how our disobedience and our weakness in abiding with You have robbed joy from our lives. We desire that we would not continue in those habits that are not pleasing to You. Open our eyes, Lord! Seeing our sin and neglect will cause us to bow down and be made low. This is a glorious state. After examining our hearts, don’t let us walk away blind and dumb. Seeing our iniquities will bring life if we see and confess. Lord do not forsake us because of our arrogance and cold hearts. You alone are our salvation, and we cling desperately to your Word! Abide with us, Oh Lord! Please pray that God would bless and guide all fathers and that they would lead their families to love and follow Jesus. Pray also for the CBC Youth mission trip leaving today (June 9th) for Puerto Rico. Pray that God will be glorified and that the US [...]

These activities are vital opportunities to sow seeds of faith in the hearts of children and families. Thank You for indwelling us with Your Holy Spirit. We ask for you to slay the beast of disunity between our Spirit and Flesh. “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16 Heavenly Father and Mighty Savior, we praise You for Your awesome power to save. We are grateful for the depth of Your love for us that You would choose to sacrifice Your only Son to bring the precious and costly gift of eternal life for anyone who would receive it. Open our hearts to the leading of the Holy Spirit to be a light to others, pointing the way to the only one who has the mighty power to save. “Why do you look for the living among the dead?” Luke 24:5 (NIV). We begin the week with Easter! Resurrection! Do you know that early Brethren did not celebrate Easter? Or Lent, or Christmas, or Advent? They believed that every time we gather as believers, we should celebrate the Resurrection! They weren’t wrong. But today, our Resurrection Celebrations are a big day in the life of our congregations. Enough beautiful Easter flowers to give you an allergic reaction! Sing! Praise! Hallelujah! And welcome new folks and occasional worshippers with love and friendship, and tell the old, old story again! Pray this week for a renewed and revitalized heart for evangelism in your life, your congregation’s life, and in the CBC! Please pray for the following congregations and pastors: Sunnyside Congregation in New Creek, WV and Pastor Randy L. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 (NIV). Hearing the news about our world each day can often be disheartening. So much suffering. So much trouble. So much division. So many are fighting against our Lord and His Perfect Word! But do not be discouraged. Do not dismay. As we move towards the celebration of Jesus’ death and resurrection, let us be reminded of His ultimate victory! In his beautiful old hymn, Maltbie Babcock wrote, “This Is My Father’s World,” “This is my Father’s world. O let me ne’er forget, that though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the Ruler yet. This is my Father’s world: the battle is not done: Jesus who died shall be satisfied, and earth and heaven be one.” Amen! Celebrate Jesus’ victory! Today and always! Pray for those who suffer.
