Queen Esther was requested by Mordecai to approach King Xerxes on behalf of the Jews. (Esther 4:12) As the queen prepared for this meeting, she remembered the King’s law requiring the death penalty for anyone who approached him without being summoned. But she also realized that this was necessary in order to save her people from destruction. In preparation to meet her King, she asked Mordecai to have all the Jews in Susa fast and pray for three days, night and day, for her safety. (Esther 4:15-16)
Esther believed it was necessary to request fasting and prayer before she approached her husband, the King. Should we not prepare ourselves in a like manner for events in our life that will directly affect our spiritual walk? Brothers and sisters, we believe it is most important that we fast and pray in preparation for significant times in our lives.
The theme for our Annual Meeting and Worship Conference is “For Such A Time As this”. (Esther 4:14)
As Esther requested fasting and prayer in her trying moments, the CBC Prayer Committee is asking each of you to fast and pray on Sunday, June 26, 2022 for the Covenant Brethren Church Annual Meeting and Worship Conference on July 1-2 in Fairmont WV. We are facing very trying times in the life of the Christian Community across this land and around the world. It is the desire of the Covenant Brethren Church to hold tightly to the authority of the inerrant Word of God. We, as a denomination, need to be bold in our walk for the Lord and be willing, For Such a Time as This, to stand up and stand firm on the Word of God. Please pray for the Conference. Pray for the presenters, for traveling mercies for those attending, and most especially, pray that everyone taking part in this coming together of God’s people, whether in person or through the live stream, will be blessed. Finally, pray that once the conference is over everyone will receive great power, being made stronger and more committed than ever to their reasonable service!
