Who are you called to go to? Who is God sending you to?
The theme of our 2026 CBC Annual Meeting and Worship Conference was “Go-Make-Baptize,” based on Jesus’ commission in Matthew 28:19. Each one of us has a unique and specific role in that commission. The first word of this statement is “go.” This begs the question, “Where am I to go?” “Who am I to go to?” God calls all of us on mission to someone, or a group of people. Here are some possible individuals or groups you may be assigned to:

1. Family. If you are a parent or grandparent, you are certainly called to share the gospel with your children and grandchildren. In 2 Timothy 1:5, we see an instance of Timothy learning the gospel from his mother, Lois, and his grandmother, Eunice. In Luke 8:38-39, Jesus sent a man whom he had delivered from demon possession back to his family to share his testimony about Him. Are you called to your family?

2. Friends, Co-Workers, Shared Interests (Same Culture and Language). Levi and Matthew invited their former tax collector friends and colleagues to dinner with Jesus (Luke 5:27-31 and Matthew 9:9-13). Are you called to friends, co-workers, or others who share a hobby or an interest?

3. Cross-Cultural (Different Cultures and Languages). The Apostle Peter was sent to cross cultures when he went to Cornelius’ house to share the gospel with the Gentiles in Acts 10-11. Are you being called to leave your comfort zone and learn another culture and language so you can effectively share Jesus with them?

4. Difficult, Unreached or Under-reached. This was the Apostle Paul’s specialty as he was most effective with the Gentiles. He was determined to share the gospel with those who had never heard it before, reaching out to the unreached. (Romans 15:18-20) Jesus calls people from every tribe, tongue, nation, and language to Him and His body. (Revelation 7:9, Matthew 24:14). Are you called to the difficult, unreached, or under-reached people groups?

5. Partnering with those reaching others. This was the role of the Philippian church as partners in Paul’s mission as expressed in Philippians 1:6. Are you called to partner with others to reach those you will not personally reach? (Romans 10:14-15 outlines five ways you may feel called by God to “Go!” When you discern God’s call, will you answer the call? God will equip you and empower you to fulfill it and help you “Go-Make-Baptize,” in Jesus’ Name.
