Samaritan’s Purse to Share Desire to Partner with CBC at Annual Meeting and Worship Conference!

The day may well have been another historic day in the young life of the Covenant Brethren Church as representatives of the denomination met with Lynn Rienstra, the Regional Director of Samaritan’s Purse who oversees the 14 northeastern states.

She expressed her desire to forge a partnership between CBC and Samaritan’s Purse, working together to share the Gospel through national and international disaster response and Operation Christmas Child. She stated that over 1,000 churches are being started per year through Operation Christmas Child and millions are coming to Christ. The international and national disaster response program is jaw dropping in its scope, and everywhere disaster needs are met the gospel is shared. She has agreed to attend our Annual Meeting and Worship Conference on July 1st and 2nd to share with the body the expansive ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, inviting us to partner with them where ever we feel led. She was impressed with the large donation the denomination had already provided for Ukraine relief. That money has already gone out to help with food, medicine, and shelter. All those present at the meeting left feeling this was the beginning of a long and very fruitful relationship in national and international ministry. It will provide many opportunities for our people in the CBC to serve God both at home and abroad. So, whether we are responding to a tornado in Texas, a flood in Florida or a refugee need in Rwanda, through our partnership with Samaritan’s purse, the people and churches of the Covenant Brethren Church will be there through financial support and physical service.

Mobile Hospital ministry

There will be unlimited opportunities to serve as representatives of the CBC and most of all, servants of Jesus Christ. It is our hope that this will allow Covenant Brethren the ability to jump miles ahead very quickly in both national and international disaster response work and to see the gospel continue to spread around the world. This isn’t about having our name on everything we do; it is about having the name of Jesus on everything we do. The Glory belongs to him.
