Barren Ridge Church is seeking a full-time Pastor. We are located in Staunton, Virginia in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. We are searching for a person of strong faith with the desire to teach the true Word of God.
We believe:
- In the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- That the Bible in its original language is inerrant and complete.
- To support the orthodox Biblical definition of marriage as being only between one biological man and one biological woman.
- That we are called to witness the Christian faith and its way of life to all people.
- To support all aspects of the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:18-20)
In accordance with the Barren Ridge Church Plan of Organization and policy of the Covenant Brethren Church, we seek someone who shall be a person whose faith, aptness to teach, preach, counsel, administer, along with acceptable educational qualifications have been examined and deemed appropriate for the position of Pastor. They shall be instructed in the Word of God and the history and practices of the brethren faith.
We would like our pastor to be able to deliver effective Bible-based sermons that are relatable to everyone, including our children & young adults. We seek someone who is compassionate, personable and approachable; one who can relate to all ages. Our pastor should be one who can work well with the church leadership as well as that of our Blue Ridge Region. We strongly support both the Blue Ridge Region and the National Covenant Brethren Church. This person should use spiritual wisdom to guide decisions, have the ability to generate new ideas and be receptive to other’s creative ideas that are supported by sound Biblical principles. Encouragement of the spiritual gifts of others is important.
