The CBC Executive Board met by Zoom for their regularly monthly meeting on March 19 beginning at 7pm. After opening prayer and approval of the minutes and treasurer’s report, The Beree Congregation in the Democratic Republic of Congo was welcomed to CBC along with individual member Bro Jim Nolt. Bro Grover Duling updated the Executive Board on plans for the Annual Meeting and Worship Conference including details regarding speakers, musicians, and pre-conference sessions. The Board decided to provide a page of information about Brethren Historical sites as well as other attractions near Manheim, PA. All participants are encouraged to register early and make hotel reservations as soon as possible.
Bro Scott Kinnick provided an update on the African CBC Churches. Our brothers and sisters there have been planting churches and holding Bible Studies. In that regard the Executive Board approved Mission Committee recommendations to provide gifts to Pastor Lewis who will be visiting Burundi and Tanzania as well as to brothers from the Covington Community CBC who will visit Nigeria. The Board also approved a gift to assist CBC Pastor Jonathan Martino and wife who are on a mission trip to Papua New Guinea through World Outreach Ministries.
Updates were shared on the CBC Polity Manual, Deacon Manual, and Minister’s Handbook all of which are coming along. The Board also heard an update on the formation of the Susquehanna Region in PA which will officially launch on October 5 at the Region 3 Conference. Bro Grover also encouraged Board members to share the opportunity to serve with Samaritan’s Purse in Alaska this summer. After Board members reported on their recent congregational visits, the meeting was adjourned with prayer just after 9:15pm by Bro Stafford Frederick. The next CBC Executive Board meeting will be held April 19-20 at the Fairmont Office in WV.
