Your Covenant Brethren Church Executive Board met on March 16 by zoom to consider many items of business. After opening prayer, the team adopted the Secretary’s minutes and Treasurer’s report.
Bro Scott Kinnick shared updates on CBC congregations outside the US and how exciting it was to hear what God is doing around the world! CBC has been officially recognized by the government in Malawi and an official even attended a CBC worship service to present the certificate in person! CBC congregations in Burundi are growing and the Board allocated money for a new church plant there. In Tanzania, an individual has donated property for a church building and money was approved to facilitate the deed transfer as well as to purchase Bibles to distribute in that country.
The CBC congregations in Venezuela are thriving despite some difficult situations in their country. Many are being saved and baptized and there are several new churches being planted as well! Bro Scott observed that God doesn’t recognize man’s borders and that He understands all languages! All CBC members are invited to pray that God would bless each of our international churches and that Pastor Lewis in Africa will be granted a visa to visit the US this summer and speak at the Annual Meeting and Worship Conference (AMWC.) In addition, if any US congregation would like to adopt an international congregation as a sister church to pray with and for, please email me at gabowers@shentel.net .
Bro Grover Duling shared updates on the AMWC that will be held July 16-18 in Johnstown, PA. The Board approved registration fees and opportunities to register and make reservations will soon be sent out. It will be a great time of worship, fellowship, and celebration together with a minimum of business. The Board also considered nominees for the Executive Board and will soon release the names of those selected to be on the ballot. Please pray for God to raise up the individuals of His choosing for this important work.
A few other minor items and reports were shared before Bro Jeremy Dykes closed the meeting in prayer thanking God for His leading and blessing and inviting His continued guidance in the Covenant Brethren Church. The next Executive Board Meeting will be held in person at the denominational offices in Fairmont, WV April 10-11. Please continue to join the Board in praying for God’s guidance, blessing, and favor as we seek to glorify Him and fulfill His mission spelled out in Matthew 25 and Matthew 28.
Respectfully Submitted by George Bowers, CBC Executive Board Secretary
