”The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones.  He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, very dry bones.  He asked me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?” Ezekiel 37:1-3 (NIV).

Yes, no matter how many years we have been Christians, doing our best to model our Savior Jesus Christ does not mean we won’t face trials, challenges, difficulties, sicknesses, and even persecutions. When many of those circumstances hit us all at once, the entire experience can make us feel as if we are standing over dry bones! Does that sound familiar? Do not be afraid, remember we are not alone.  Psalm 23:4 invites us to rest, yes, fully to rest in the promise that our Mighty GOD is on our side, not only that, but He’s also equipped with His rod and staff to guide and protect us. “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4 NIV)

Do not forget what Jesus assures us in the gospel of John 16:33 that, despite the struggles, tribulations, difficulties, and many other inevitable trials, we can find peace: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” John 16:33 (NIV).

Just remember, it shouldn’t be a surprise as we walk over this earth to encounter difficulties and struggles as Christians; John also tells us that life will include trouble and tribulations, but in Jesus and only in Jesus we will find Peace.

Finally, take heart, be brave, do not fear, let us surrender our all to Him by trusting in His Victory; “HE OVERCAME THE WORLD”. Let’s not allow the challenges of this world to distract us; let’s continue working towards our ultimate goal: Eternal Life with Jesus Christ.  AMEN!
