Please pray for Brothers Grover Duling and Scott Kinnick who are in the Dominican Republic at the invitation of brothers and sisters there. Pray for God’s blessing on their ministry and for God’s Kingdom to be advanced and expanded! Pray for God’s blessings on the Christians in the Dominican Republic. Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord, in one place…Father, we cannot cause unity to happen in our churches. You are the Author of Unity; but I am utterly persuaded that we can wait on you! In the upper room as they were waiting for the promise, they were waiting with a full expectancy that you would do what You said you would do! They obeyed your words to go to Jerusalem and wait for the Gift! Every time we want to divide ourselves; every time we want to be right in our own eyes, help us, Oh Lord to stop and change our minds and agree with your Word. It is worship, bowing to your word and presenting our bodies as living sacrifices that brings what you desire in our lives and the life of the church. In the precious Name, Jesus, Who has called us to be One! Heavenly Father, In Ephesians 4:1-6, Paul is urging us to live a life worthy of the calling we have received. You saved us by your Grace and now, oh God, we desire with our whole hearts to walk in a way that brings you Joy! Help us to be completely humble and gentle; to be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make it our resolve to keep the unity of the Sprit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit. Just as we were called to one hope when we were called; One God, one faith, one baptism; One God and Father of all, who is over all, through all and in all! You, oh God are the One the I Am of all that we believe! Give us wisdom, that you give liberally, to understand the Beauty and Power of this Word for our Body! Holy Father, we pray for unity in our churches and in the Covenant Brethren Church. We ask that you would give us wisdom to know how best to love our neighbors as ourselves and how best to care for one another. God, we pray that amidst differing opinions, you would help us to keep our eyes focused on you and your word! 1 Corinthians 1:10 asks us to agree, and that there be no divisions among us, but that we be united in the same mind and the same judgement. This, Father, can only be accomplished when we love Your Word more than our opinions! Let it Be according to your Name! For the month of August, I would ask that we pray for unity in the Body of Christ. In The Covenant Brethren Church and in our individual churches. We want to be unified as we look to Him the Author and Finisher of our faith! Let us, in unity, pray these scriptures with absolute certainty that He hears us and that we have whatever we ask of Him. Father, we desire to pray your word over the Body of Christ. There are no requests more powerful than the requests that we know are near to your heart. We place your Holy Word in our hearts and ask that You bring these desires into reality. This week we meditate on your word, Psalm 133. Behold how good and pleasant it is when the brethren dwell together in unity! It is like the oil on the Head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! 2 Corinthians 9:10-11 Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. Praise God for His abundant provision for you, your family, and your congregation and pray for Him to continue to provide for the National Covenant Brethren Church as well as for each Region to do the important work He has called us to do. Pray for Him to increase our store of seed that our harvest of righteousness might be enlarged and that it might result in much thanksgiving to God. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Pray for God to bless and direct the CBC Ministry Training Plan as it takes shape with the various courses, presenters, and facilitators and pray for God to bless the other training opportunities such as Brethren Bible Institute. Reaching forth…I press toward the mark of the high calling of God. Philippians 3:13-14 Meditate on this theme for the Fourth Annual Meeting and Worship Conference (AMWC) this week. Ask God to bless this AMWC with a powerful presence of His Holy Spirit and invite Him to expand your reach, the reach of your congregation, and the reach of CBC to touch all the world with Jesus. Ask God to help us press on toward His high calling that we have in Christ Jesus and to prove faithful. Colossians 2:6-7 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Pray for God to prepare the hearts of all CBC delegates, presenters, and participants in the Fourth Annual Meeting and Worship Conference (AMWC) next week in PA. Pray for safe travels for all who will participate and for an outpouring of God’s Spirit through worship, study, fellowship and service and that all will be strengthened in the faith.
