“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” — Psalm 119:105

As the days warm and the world seems full of brightness, God invites us to walk more deeply in His light. Just as a seed needs sunlight to grow strong and healthy, our hearts need the light of God’s Word and presence. It’s easy to get caught up in all the fun of summer days, spending time with friends, enjoying outdoor adventures, or relaxing by a nearby pool or park. But even in seasons of rest we can be intentional to let God’s truth shine brightly in our lives.

Think of Psalm 119:105: God’s Word guides us—it shows us where to step next. Maybe right now you’re making decisions about how you spend your time, who you hang out with, or what attitudes you choose to embrace. In the same way a path is easier to follow when it’s lit, life is clearer and safer when we live by God’s instruction.

Let the season’s warmth remind you of God’s steadfast love. He doesn’t only speak to us when we’re gathered in church—He’s talking to us every day, in quiet moments, Scripture reading, and prayer. When we open the Bible or pray before we head out for the day, we’re making space for that light to guide our choices—how we treat others, how we respond when things don’t go as planned, how we choose forgiveness instead of bitterness, hope instead of discouragement.

Even in long, casual summer afternoons, you can pause and say, “Jesus, show me the next right step.” He cares about the small and the big, the fun and the routine. When God’s Word is your lamp, every decision becomes clearer, every fear becomes less scary, every relationship more loving.

So as the sun shines outside, let God’s light shine inside you. Let His Word guide your feet, your words, your actions. That light never fades—it’s always there, ready for you to walk in confidently and joyfully.

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for shining Your light on my path. Help me to trust Your Word each day, even when life feels uncertain. May Your truth guide my steps, shape my heart, and show me how to love others. Keep me near You in this season and always. Amen.
