The CBC Executive Committee held its monthly meeting by Zoom on September 9. After the opening prayer, the minutes were approved, and the treasurer’s report was reviewed and adopted. The highlight of the meeting was the approval of five new CBC congregations! All five are in Panama, and Bro Scott Kinnick had visited with their leaders on a recent trip. The Board also approved credentialing for five individuals, bringing the total number of credentialed ministers to 218 and the total number of congregations to 211.

The Board also reviewed the summary of evaluations from the 2025 Annual Meeting and Worship Conference and heard updates on plans for 2026. The Program Planning and Arrangements Committee will soon release the location and dates of the 2026 AMWC once they are finalized. The Board also approved an emeritus status for ordained ministers, with details to be disseminated to the regions. Bro. Grover also shared that the Ethics Training materials will be available for regional presentations very soon and will be communicated to all regional leaders in the near future.

Bro. Scott shared updates on the out-of-country CBC congregations with special concern for our brothers and sisters caught in the crossfire of war in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Related to these international reports, the Board approved financial support for CBC in the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Ecuador.

Bro. Grover Duling shared a letter from Bro. John Kim, who is the new Samaritan’s Purse liaison to CBC. Bro. Kim offered his services to attend and participate in CBC events. Regions and congregations are encouraged to reach out and invite him. His number is 331-312-2138.

After Board members reported on recent church visits and plans were finalized for the October meeting, Bro. John Swonger closed in prayer, inviting God’s blessings on all CBC pastors, elders, and congregations both in the US and abroad. It’s miraculous the way that God continues to bless and guide the Covenant Brethren Church, and all members and congregations are encouraged to continue to pray for the Executive Board as well as the Regional leaders.
