Weekly Prayer Point – 11/28/22
Luke 2:30-32 This is the first week of traditional Christmas shopping madness. Let us pray that parents, as well as children, remember that the focus of this season is Jesus Christ and not the gifts we give or hope to receive. The acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Savior is the greatest gift we can receive. In an effort to encourage and support each other, the CBC Prayer Committee encourages each member and congregation to pray for our sister congregations. Two of these will be shared each week for special prayer. This week, please pray for: Antioch CBC in Woodstock, VA and Pastors George Bowers and Dale Bennett Asher Glade in Friendsville, MD and Pastor Michael Saturday CBC Prayer Committee

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.” Psalm 103:2-5 (NKJV) It’s easy to think of material blessings, and we should thank God for them. The most important blessings are spiritual. Take time, especially this week, to thank the Lord for our spiritual blessings as well.

Over the past seven weeks your CBC Prayer Committee has asked you to read Matthew 6:5–13 and to pray according to the model prayer which Jesus gave His disciples. Although this is the final week of the series, please do not fail to use this model prayer as an encouragement and guide for your future prayer life. Week Seven – PRAISE - Read Matthew 6:9 – 13 Verse 13b – “For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen” As we begin with praise it is only proper that we also end our praying with praise! Let us acknowledge the majesty * power * mercy * holiness of our God Let us thank Him for hearing and the response/answer to our praying. CBC Prayer Committee

In the seven weeks from August 29 through October 10 your CBC Prayer Committee is asking you to read Matthew 6:5–13 and to pray according to the model prayer which Jesus gave His disciples. Week Six – PROTECTION - Read Matthew 6:9 - 13 Verse 13a - “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:” Pray that the Holy Spirit guides in every decision and that our footsteps be ordered by the Word of God. May we be spiritually discerning of how the devil would hinder us from doing the will of God. As we pray, “put on the full armor of God” knowing that “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (I John 4:4).
