Weekly Prayer Point – 04/29/24

April 29th, 2024|Weekly Prayer Point|

During the month of April the chilly winds of winter fade and the long nights give way to longer days. It is also a time when we begin to think of and make preparations for planting. There is a process that is followed that takes us from tilling the soil to harvest. The ground has been turned --- the seed has been planted --- and appropriate fertilizer has been applied --- our seed, now plants growing and prayerfully thriving.  WE patiently await the harvest.  Of course, the harvest, however plentiful itself is not our responsibility—only the sowing.  Our task is to sow the Spirit’s seed.  It is always God who produces the harvest. “Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.  37 For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’  38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; [...]

During the month of April the chilly winds of winter fade and the long nights give way to longer days. It is also a time when we begin to think of and make preparations for planting. There is a process that is followed that takes us from tilling the soil to harvest. The ground has been turned --- the seed has been planted --- and appropriate fertilizer has been applied. The seed is now a plant and must be maintained/cultivated. The soil reworked, allowing the spiritual roots to grow and weeds removed to allow the plant to receive the full benefit of water, sun, and nutrient. “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, 27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. 28 For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. 29 But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.” (Mark 4:26-29 NKJV). The Kingdom of God is about growth—lavish, abundant, unexpected growth. We have little [...]

April 15th, 2024|Weekly Prayer Point|

During the month of April the chilly winds of winter fade and the long nights give way to longer days. It is also a time when we begin to think of and make preparations for planting. There is a process that is followed that takes us from tilling the soil to harvest. The ground has been turned --- the seed has been planted. Now the need to provide the nutrients (fertilizer) for growth. When the seed of God’s word is sown it holds the potential for spiritual growth. Like the seed we plant in our gardens, it must be nurtured and cared for. “Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness” (II Corinthians 9:11 NKJV). Though we generously spread God’s Word by personal witness, faithfulness in all things, and in trusting God to multiply our efforts. Know that growth happens in His timing! Please pray for the following congregations and pastors Brookside Congregation in Aurora, WV and Pastor Mark Teets Caimito Congregation in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Pastor Evelyn Tanco Rosario CBC Prayer Committee

April 8th, 2024|Weekly Prayer Point|

During the month of April the chilly winds of winter fade and the long nights give way to longer days. It is also a time when we begin to think of and make preparations for planting. There is a process that is followed that takes us from tilling the soil to harvest. The ground has been turned; now we are ready to put the seed in the ground.  The seed which we sow is the Word.  Now as laborers in God’s garden (the world) let us sow freely and abundantly the redemption, hope, and life that can be found in our Lord Jesus Christ. “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.  8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.  9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. (Galatians 6:9 – 10 NKJV). Let us pray that the seed of God’s word will draw us closer to our Lord & King faithfully fulfilling His [...]
