In the month of April, we find ourselves busy as winter quickly becomes past tense, and spring with its flowers, the song of robins, gentle rains, and warmth becomes our present. During this lovely and colorful time of the year, let us not forget it is a time to remember our Lord and His final days here on earth. It is a time in our personal lives and the life of the CBC to reflect, teach and proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ and the purpose of His coming, His death, His burial, and His resurrection. HE IS ALIVE! The Prayer Committee asks the CBC family to make time daily to read the Bible, worship, and pray. Pray that we never forget the purpose of Christ’s coming - John 3:16-17 Pray we find ourselves obedient to Christ’s example - John 13:1-17 Let us pray that God’s will be done whatever the cost - Luke 22:39-46 Let us rejoice that the work of redemption is complete - Matthew 19:28-30 Please pray for the following congregations and pastors: Maison du Potier Congregation, Democratic Republic of Congo Africa, and Pastor Kifuluga Asani Alaiz Malinde Congregation, Democratic Republic of Congo Africa and [...]

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all of the Lord’s people.” Ephesians 6:18 Praise the Lord who gives us His Holy Spirit to help us in every way. Thank God, who hears and answers our prayers and does not leave us stranded to fend for ourselves but provides us with everything we need to serve Him. Ask God’s Holy Spirit to direct our prayers in accordance with His perfect plan and will. Pray for the leaders and people of the Covenant Brethren Church to always be alert and constantly in prayer for discernment of God’s truth and justice, obeying God’s Word, seeking God’s will, loving and caring for the needy, and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. “In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” Ephesians 6:16-17 Praise the Lord God Almighty who has the power to save us from our sin and protect us from the evil one. Thank God for equipping us with His powerful weapon against temptation and attacks from the evil one – The Word of God which is “alive and active and sharper than any double-edge sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of our hearts.” (Hebrews 4:12) Pray for “God’s power to be made perfect in our weakness” (1 Corinthians 12) by guarding our hearts from temptation and evil and helping us to stand strong in faith and obedience to our Heavenly Father as we seek to do His perfect will. “Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.” Ephesians 6:13-15 Praise The Lord Most High for His truth and righteousness that, with the help of The Holy Spirit, we see woven throughout His Word and in His creation. Thank God, for His grace through the blood of Jesus Christ which covers us with His righteousness. Pray for God to open our eyes to discern His truth and to remember to lean on His immeasurable power so we can stand firm on His truth and to “always be ready to boldly share the Gospel of peace with others giving them the reason for the hope we have in Christ Jesus.” 1 Peter 3:15 Please pray for these congregations and pastors: Jordan Run Congregation in Maysville WV and Pastor Chaz Steiner Joyful Congregation in Garrett, PA and Pastor Timothy Vaughn CBC Prayer Committee [...]

”Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:10-12 Let us praise God for His awesome and mighty power and thank Him for providing us with powerful tools to stand firm in our faith as we face spiritual struggles. Pray that we never forget or doubt that our Heavenly Father is fully in control and capable of fighting our battles no matter how big or small and help us to stand strong and be as faithful and fearless as David who took five little stones and trusted God to conquer the Giant in his life. Through a class I am taking from the Lee Strobel Institute, the myopic view of his sin that Adam had was pointed out when God called to him in the garden after Adam sinned. Of all the sins Adam could have confessed, the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life; Adam answered, “I was naked and ashamed and hid myself.” Adam could have seen so much more but he was focused on that immediate sin. God’s response was to cover his sin by the shedding of blood, which directed Adam to a prophetic covering to come. Let us pray for the LGBTQIA+ community. Let us pray in the manner of our Lord for all those who are suffering in sin. Let us pray that our eyes will be open to see the sacrifice for our sins, not just focused on one single sin that is magnified in our eyes. Father, help us to love in the same manner as you have loved! Help us to cover our brothers and sisters and to apply your precious blood to our hearts. Please pray for these congregations and pastors: Gethsemane Congregation in South Kivu Province, [...]
