Through a class I am taking from the Lee Strobel Institute, the myopic view of his sin that Adam had was pointed out when God called to him in the garden after Adam sinned. Of all the sins Adam could have confessed, the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life; Adam answered, “I was naked and ashamed and hid myself.” Adam could have seen so much more but he was focused on that immediate sin. God’s response was to cover his sin by the shedding of blood, which directed Adam to a prophetic covering to come. Let us pray for the LGBTQIA+ community. Let us pray in the manner of our Lord for all those who are suffering in sin. Let us pray that our eyes will be open to see the sacrifice for our sins, not just focused on one single sin that is magnified in our eyes. Father, help us to love in the same manner as you have loved! Help us to cover our brothers and sisters and to apply your precious blood to our hearts. Hebrews 4:12 For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; It judges even the thoughts and attitudes of our heart. Church, please pray Psalm 133 for the Covenant Brethren Church denomination. Pray for unity as our Father God anoints our leadership. True Christian unity puts us in position to receive that precious anointing oil! Oh, how we desire that anointing! One Sunday before Christmas, our pastor was preaching about that glorious day of the dedication of Solomon’s Temple when the fire fell and the priests could not stand to minister to the people. I was overwhelmed with desire for us to experience this Glory of the Lord in our church! When he began to quote in that chapter, 2 Chronicles, 7:14, my heart leapt within me. Our Father is addressing His people…His Israel and now His Church. Oh Church, if we will humble ourselves and pray, and seek His face and turn from our wicked ways, then He will hear from Heaven, forgive our sins and heal our land… the church! This is the way for us to be affective for Him in these days and to allow His Glory to fill the church so that the world will run to Him! Consider the following quote from C S Lewis: “An ordinary simple Christian kneels down to say his prayers. He is trying to get in touch with God. But if he is a Christian, he knows that what is prompting him to pray is also God: God, so to speak, inside him. But he also knows that all his real knowledge of God, comes through Christ, the man who was God - that Christ is standing beside him, helping him to pray, praying for him. You see what is happening. God is the thing to which he is praying - the goal he is trying to reach. God is also the thing inside him which is pushing him on - the motive power. God is also the road or bridge along which he is being pushed to that goal. So that the whole threefold life of the three-personal Being is actually going on in that ordinary little bedroom where an ordinary man is saying his prayers.” 1 John 5:14-15 – “And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, [...]

John 13:15-16 Merry Christmas brothers and sisters. Let us give prayers of thankfulness to God who sent His Son to us for our salvation. Because of our faith in Jesus, we can serve Him acceptably in our daily lives. He told us and showed us that obedient service is a result and evidence of our faith in Him. In an effort to encourage and support each other, the CBC Prayer Committee encourages each member and congregation to pray for our sister congregations. Two of these will be shared each week for special prayer. This week, please pray for: Brake Congregation in Petersburg, WV and Pastor Craig Howard Brandts Church in St. Thomas PA and Pastor Roger Myers CBC Prayer Committee
