A few years ago, while traveling to the Middle East, we had a layover in Istanbul. As our plane descended into the city, I was struck by the miles of high-rise buildings and reminded of the world’s more than eight billion lives and souls—each one known by God and called by name. In that moment, I reflected on the awe-inspiring truth that Christ died for everyone, offering forgiveness and the promise of eternal life. Heavenly Father, we praise You for Your great love for humanity and for providing the one and only Savior, Jesus Christ— “the Way and the Truth and the Life” John 14:6 (NIV). Through Him alone, our sins are forgiven, and we are reconciled to You. Soften hearts to receive the gospel and help us to “always be prepared to give an answer… for the hope that we have” 1 Peter 3:15 (NIV). Heavenly Father, we praise You for who You are and for all that You have done. We are grateful for Your powerful Word, which reveals the truth about You—Your character, Your ways, and the future You have prepared for us. As we study and dig deeply into Your Word, we humbly ask for wisdom, discernment, and understanding. “Your Word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens” Psalm 119:89 (NIV). May we never compromise the truth You have revealed to us. Help us to stand firm, to guard the knowledge of Your Word of truth, and to faithfully preach it, teach it, and share it with others as we live it out with the help of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV). "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess His name" Hebrews 13:15 ( NIV). Heavenly Father: We praise You because You are the one and only true God, the Creator of all things. You breathed life into Adam, and by Your hand all humanity was formed. When sin entered the world and separated us from You, You did not abandon us. Instead, in Your great love, You provided a way for sin to be atoned for, and in the fullness of time You gave Your Son as the perfect sacrifice—so our broken relationship with You could be restored. You are almighty-knowing and all-powerful. You are the righteous Judge, holy and just in all Your ways. And yet, You are also full of love, grace, and mercy. We stand in awe of who You are and humbly offer You the sacrifice of praise, proclaiming Your name with thankful hearts. Through Jesus, we lift our voices and our lives to glorify You. Amen! As the weather warms, we enter a season of preparation and planting. Let us pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal the urgency of this season. We are to be Christ’s witness throughout every season. Before the seed of the Gospel is sown, hearts need to be prepared to receive the good news of Christ. Let us pray for divine appointments and that we will be ready in season and out to share Christ with our world. “And He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” Mark 16:15 (NKJV). “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” I Peter 2: 9 (NKJV). As we walk with the Lord through the various seasons of His creation, we become aware of the challenges each season brings. These seasons are intended to be times of testing, spiritual growth, and experiences that shape us into who we are meant to be. “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity in their hearts….” Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NKJV). “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” II Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV). Heavenly Father, as we experience the changes and challenges each season brings, may we be reminded that in every season Your righteous purpose is being accomplished. Amen. The cold of winter is gone, and the color and glow of spring have come. The Bible has much to tell us about seasons and time. As individuals, congregations, and a young denomination, may the Holy Spirit remind us that God is never early nor late. Our anxiousness will not accelerate God’s time. Shall we trust the seasons of life to the Creator of time? Waiting is not evidence of God’s absence, but God’s process of conforming and preparing us for what lies ahead. “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!” Psalm 27:14 ( NKJV). “For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly” Romans 5:6 (NKJV). Heavenly Father, as we are bound and limited by time until that glorious moment we step out of time into eternity, may we be faithful in trusting You for Your perfect time. Amen! We understand this conflict has been foretold, yet it remains distressing. Pray for our President and national leaders as decisions are made. Pray for all world leaders to desire peace. Pray for those who serve in the military and find themselves in harm’s way. Our Brethren roots emphasize that we are a community of peaceful people.
